Dr. John J. Kaplan is the founder and master trainer of Core3 Performance, built on the pillars of Commitment, Consistency, and Concentration. With a lifelong passion for fitness, John brings unmatched experience as a U.S. Air Force veteran, seasoned athlete, and certified personal trainer.
John’s fitness journey spans decades — from leading fitness initiatives throughout his 20-year military career to running a full-service fitness center at Fort Meade, Maryland. He’s completed three marathons and trained individuals across several age groups and ability levels with a focus on sustainable, lifelong health.
Professional Background
Dr. Kaplan holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, a J.D. in Intellectual Property Law, and an MBA — all earned while serving full-time on active duty. He currently serves as Director of the Department of Veterans Affairs Technology Transfer Program and is a licensed attorney and Professional Engineer.
His military career includes key leadership roles at the Pentagon, DARPA, and the Defense Threat Reduction Agency. Recognized as the U.S. Air Force's top communications officer, John’s career reflects his deep commitment to excellence and discipline — the same values that define Core3 Performance.
